The 14th edition of the joint military exercise “Vajra Prahar 2023” conducted between India and the US concluded on 11 December 2023 at the Joint Training Site in Umroi. The joint military exercise of Special Forces between the two countries was conducted from 21 November to 11 December 2023 at Umroi Cantonment in Meghalaya.

  • On the successful completion of ‘Vajra Prahar 2023’, US Ambassador, Eric Garcetti expressed special thanks to India for hosting the 14th edition.

Objectives of Exercise Vajra Prahar 2023:

  • The main objective of organising this exercise was to share experiences in joint mission planning and operational strategy.

About the exercise “Vajra Prahar”:

  • The first edition of the Vajra Prahar exercise was conducted in India in the year 2010.
  • Exercise Vajra Prahar is a joint military exercise conducted between the special forces of the Indian and US armies.
  • The objective of the exercise is to share best practices and best experiences in areas such as joint program planning and operational strategy.
  • The 13th edition of the exercise was conducted at the Special Forces Training Center (SFTS) at Bakloh (Himachal Pradesh).
  • Under this exercise, the military contingents of both the countries jointly conducted several exercises,

  • The exercises took place as planned in a series of special operations, counter-terrorism activities and air operations in conventional and unconventional scenarios in mountainous areas.
