Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, will visit three nations Spain, Portugal and Brazil, from 30 June to 5th July 2025 to attend 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4),10th Annual Meeting of New Development Bank (NDB) and attend the BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting (FMCBG) in Rio de Janeiro.
Nirmala Sitharaman will first visit Spain as part of her three-nation official tour.
She will address the United Nations 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4), in Seville, Spain.
The 4th FFD4 was held in Seville from 30 June to 3 July 2025.
The International Conference on Financing for Development brings together world leaders to explore innovative approaches to resource mobilisation and supporting global development, with a particular focus on developing countries.
During her visit to Brazil, Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the 10th Annual Meeting of the New Development Bank to be held in Rio de Janeiro on 4 and 5th July 2025.
Nirmala Sitharaman as the Finance Minister of India, represents the country in the New Development Bank’s Board of Governors.
The Board of Governors is the highest decision-making body of the New Development Bank.
The New Development Bank was established by the BRICS in 2015 and has nine members: India, Brazil, South Africa, China, Russia, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Algeria.
BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting
She will also attend the first BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, under the BRICS Brazilian Chairmanship, in Rio de Janeiro.
Brazil will host the 17th BRICS Summit in 2025, to be held in Rio de Janeiro on July 6, 2025, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
