Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the state-level Independence Day function held at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal.

Many initiatives like Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Mitras, Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana have been announced.

Key highlights of the event

  • Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana will be formulated. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that every citizen will get a pucca house in the state. No family will be without a roof. The eligible people who are not included in Awas Plus will also be benefitted from the scheme. 

    • The Government conducted Awaas+ survey during January, 2018 to March, 2019 to identify those beneficiaries which claimed to have been left out under the 2011 SECC. 

  • Those families who are not under any tax slab or do not take advantage of health facilities through any other means will be included in Ayushman Yojana. More than 3 crore 50 lakh names have been added to the scheme in Madhya Pradesh.

  • In Madhya Pradesh, the definition of democracy- "of the people, for the people and by the people" has been realised in true sense. The Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Mitras act as a bridge between the public and government. They will be given responsibility for every 50 families. Approximately 3 lakh youths will be associated with this responsibility in the state. 

  • Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that ambitious projects like Narmada Pragati Path, Vindhya Pragati Path, Malwa Vikas Path, Madhya Vikas Path and Bundelkhand Vikas Path will boost the profile of Madhya Pradesh to new heights in future. 

  • The state government has decided to sanction Rs 3,000 crore for renovation and maintenance of city roads from the current financial year under the Kayakalp Abhiyan (rejuvenation campaign).

  • CM Shri Chouhan said that the PetroChemicals Complex will be built under the expansion of Bina Refinery. 

  • After improving the state's power supply, construction of the world's largest floating solar power plant at Omkareshwar and making Sanchi a solar city will brighten the future of Madhya Pradesh. 

  • The Ken-Betwa link project works Rs 44 thousand 605 crore has been approved in the state.

  • The CM said the Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana would be launched on August 22 in which youths would be provided with necessary skills to get better jobs.

  • The State Police Headquarters has announced the Rustom Award for the year 2020-21 to 55 police officers and employees. The awards will be given on January 26, 2024.
