Airtel Payments Bank launches ‘She Leads Bharat: Udyam

Airtel Payments Bank in partnership with Frontier Markets and Mastercard has launched 'She Leads Bharat:Udyam' initiative to support one lakh women-owned small businesses in India.

The 'She Leads Bharat:Udyam' initiative will enable these women owned small businesses  based in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to upskill and earn via Frontier Markets' Meri-Saheli platform.

Out of these, 10,000 female small business owners will be able to grow their business and add a source of revenue by becoming Airtel Payments Bank Business Correspondents (BCs). 

The initiative will be funded by the Mastercard Impact Fund, which will bring capital and global expertise of its Center for Inclusive Growth to unlock tools, resources, and networks for women-owned small businesses.

Frontier Market was set up in 2011 by Ajaita Shah,headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan.  

Frontier Markets is a social commerce platform which provides a platform for rural women entrepreneurs  to sell their products online. It aims to provide  rural households local access to high quality, climate friendly, and gender inclusive products and services. 

Mastercard is an American multinational financial technology company headquartered in New York, USA. It is the second largest card processing company in the world after VISA. 

Airtel Payment Bank 

It is India’s first payment bank and was launched in January 2017. It has been promoted by Bharti Airtel.
