Ranchi, capital city of Jharkhand will host the 7th edition of the Asian Champions Trophy for women. It will be a joint venture between Hockey India and the Jharkhand government .
The Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament for women is being held in India for the first time . It will be held in Ranchi from 27th October 27 to 5th November 2023.
Besides India, defending champion Japan, runner-up South Korea, China, Malaysia and Thailand are expected to participate in the tournament.
The Indian women’s team won the title in 2016 and in the following edition in 2018, it finished runner-up.
Only three teams have won the title . South Korea has won it 3 times , Japan two times and India once.
The Women's Asian Champions Trophy for hockey is held every two years . Top 5 women’s national hockey teams from Asia who are the members of the Asian Hockey Federation participate in the championships .
