NEET 2021 Examination: Details
NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate). It is a national level exam conducted every year by NTA for admission in MBBS, AYUSH, BDS, Veterinary, and other medical courses in India. Moreover, to get admission in institutions like AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS, the aspirants need to qualify in the NEET exam.
NEET 2021 will be conducted in 11 different languages. NEET Qualified candidates will be eligible to get admission in more than 75,000 MBBS seats and 25,000 BDS seats across the country.
It is worth mentioning here that last year around 16 lakh candidates had registered for the exam. And out of the 16 lakhs only 85-90% of candidates had appeared for the exam.
NEET 2021 Latest News:
June 2, 2021: NTA has activated NEET official website 2021. The starting date of the online application process will be released soon on neet.nta.nic.in.
June 1, 2021: Class 12 board exams have been cancelled. However, there is no update related to the NEET 2021 examination yet.
May 25, 2021: The delay in board exam dates due to the covid pandemic situation might cause a delay in NEET 2021 exam date. The dates might also be pushed to September 2021.
May 20, 2021: NEET aspirants can download NEET previous years’ question papers in PDFs in their preferred language.
April 21, 2021: NEET 2021 syllabus will remain unchanged as per the new official notice from MoE.
April 15, 2021: JIPMER will only take the NEET scores into consideration for admission in B.Sc Nursing & Allied Health Science programs.

NEET 2021 latest updates
- NTA has released NEET 2021 Exam Date i.e. August 1, 2021. Other details regarding the events will be released shortly.
- However, since Class 12 board exams have been cancelled by CBSE and various other boards due to the current pandemic situation. As a result a delay in the application dates is expected.
- NEET 2021 will be held in 11 languages in offline mode.
- The syllabus will be same as last year.
- NTA with the official notification has clarified that NEET UG Result 2021 may be used by other Central/State Governments colleges including Indian Nursing Council/ Nursing Colleges/ Schools, JIPMER for admission in courses like B.Sc. (Life Sciences) and B.Sc. (Nursing) in accordance with the rules & regulations of those colleges.
- JIPMER has officially announced that they will take admission in the B.Sc Nursing and Allied Health Science programs from this session onwards based on student’s NEET scores.

NEET 2021 Registration form
Here is a step by step guide to fill the NEET 2021 registration form-
Step 1: NEET 2021 Registration form:
Visit the official website of NEET 2021 exam. Provide valid email id and mobile number to generate NEET Registration No. and Password.
Step 2: Fill the NEET Application Form:
Login to the official website by entering your registration no. and password. Enter your personal and academic details, your preferred exam centre for NEET 2021
Step 3: Upload the necessary Documents:
Upload scanned copy of a passport size photograph, signature, and other required documents are per the guidelines of NTA.
Step 4: Make the Payment of NEET Registration Fees:
NEET application fees can be paid online. The application fee for NEET 2021 is INR 1500 for GN, INR 1400 for EWS, and INR 800 for other category candidates.
Step 5: Submit NEET 2021 Application Form:
After reviewing all the information, save and submit the application form.
NTA will also announce the dates for NEET 2021 Form Correction and the window will also be opened accordingly. Please note that candidates will be allowed to edit only a few specific details like:
- Gender and Category
- Mother’s and Father’s Name
- Person with Disability status

NEET 2021 Exam Pattern
No changes have yet been announced in the exam pattern of NEET 2021 Exam by NTA. But it is made clear that the exam will be held in pen and paper mode this year as well. However the candidates will have internal options in the question paper considering the fact that the class 12 board exam syllabuses have been reduced in many states. NTA will shortly notify through their official brochure about any other important changes or additions in the NEET 2021 exam pattern.

NEET Admit Card 2021
Candidates who have successfully registered for the NEET 2021 exam will be able to download their NEET Admit Card by logging in to their accounts on the official website. NEET Admit Card 2021 will be made available on the official website a month prior the exam date.
- Candidates will be able to check the important details regarding the exam date, time, exam centre etc. in their NEET admit card 2021.
- On the day of exam, the applicants will have to carry the NEET Admit Card 2021 along with a valid ID proof to the exam centre.
NEET Result 2021:
NEET result date 2021 will be declared as soon as the conclusion of the exam. Candidates will be able to check their results on the official website of NTA NEET.
- NEET Result 2021 is to be announced in the scorecard format on the NTA NEET official website.

NEET 2021 Merit List
NEET Merit list 2021 will be released by NTA. NTA will provide the merit to the counselling body i.e. DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The merit list will be declared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the NEET 2021 exam.

NEET Cut off scores 2021
In order to get admission in MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH programs, candidates will have to qualify NEET Cut off percentile and scores.
It is to be noted that due to vacant seats in AYUSH and BDS programs, the authority had reduced the qualifying percentile by 10 in the last year i.e. 2020.

NEET Counselling 2021
MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) conducts NEET Counselling for 15% AIQ seats every year. The counselling process by MCC is conducted in 3 rounds. If the seats are still left vacant after the completion of round 3, then the authority has the power to conduct another round of counselling.
