The 5th edition of the Khelo India University Games 2024 will be hosted by Rajasthan in November 2025. The Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, announced this in a social media post on 25 June 2025. Rajasthan will host the Khelo India University Games for the first time and it joins Odisha, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and the seven North Eastern States of Assam, Sikkim, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland to host the Games.
The last Khelo India University Games were collectively hosted by Assam, Sikkim, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland in 2024.
Khelo India University Games is part of the Khelo India Programme, introduced by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in 2017. The Khelo India Games aim to strengthen and revive the country's sports culture and unearth sporting talents that can win medals at international sporting events.
The Ministry, in partnership with the Indian Olympic Association and the state government, organises four national-level Khelo India Games - Khelo India Winter Games, Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India University Games and Khelo India Para Games.
The Khelo India Youth Games is for athletes under 19 years of age, while the Khelo India University Games is for athletes under 25 years of age.
