  • May 27, 2021: UPSC will be releasing the revised exam calendar for the remaining year.
  • May 17, 2021: Department of Personnel and Training released the Service-wise breakup of UPSC vacancies 2021 and 2020.
  • May 13, 2021: UPSC IAS 2021 exam postponed by UPSC. UPSC released a notice regarding the rescheduling of the IAS 2021 Prelims exam.

UPSC (IAS) Eligibility Criteria 2021

Before applying for the Civil service exam, the candidate should meet the eligibility criteria because the UPSC board doesn’t consider the application form for ineligible candidates. 

Nationality

  • For appearing in IAS examination candidate should have Indian nationality.

Age Limit

  • The age limit for the IAS exam is from 21 to 32 years.
  • Few age relaxations are available based on the category of the candidates as below:
    • OBC – 35 years
    • SC,ST – 37 years
    • Defence Services Personnel disabled – 40 years.

Educational Qualification

  • Every candidate should possess a graduation degree to apply for the civil service exam.
  • The candidates who are in the final year of their degree course, can also fill the IAS application but they will have to submit their final year mark sheet when they will submit the Detailed Application Form(DAF) for the IAS main exam.

The total of both written tests and personal interviews is 2025 marks.
