The Eligibility Criteria generally outline three major requirements i.e. nationality, age limit, and educational qualifications for the post.

Nationality

A candidate must be:

1. A citizen of India, OR
2. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, OR
3. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, or the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Important Conditions:

• Candidates under category (3) must have an eligibility certificate issued by the State Government.
• This certificate will not be issued for more than one year. Such candidates must obtain Indian citizenship if they wish to continue beyond the validity period.

Note:- If an eligibility certificate is required but has neither been issued nor rejected, the candidate may still be allowed to appear in the examination/interview and may even receive a provisional appointment. However, the appointment will be confirmed only after the candidate submits the required eligibility certificate.

Age Limit 

To apply for the UKMSSB Nursing Officer position, candidates' age must be between 21 and 42 years on 1 July 2025. However, candidates belonging to the special categories have relaxation in the upper age limit as per the UKMSSB guidelines. 

Age Relaxation

Candidates belonging to the special categories, such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and other categories notified by the Government of Uttarakhand from time to time, will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit as specified in the applicable rules. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a required educational degree and diploma to apply for the UKMSSB Nursing Officer Recruitment 2025. To apply for the UKMSSB Nursing Officer positions, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

1. The candidate must have one of the following qualifications from a university or institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC):

• B.Sc. Nursing (Honours), OR
• Regular B.Sc. Nursing course, OR
• Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, OR
• Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or Psychiatric Nursing

2. The candidate must hold a valid registration certificate as a B.Sc. (Honours) Nurse / B.Sc. Nurse / Post Basic B.Sc. Nurse / GNM Nurse / Psychiatric Nurse from the Uttarakhand Nursing and Midwifery Council or the Indian Nursing Council.
3. The candidate should have working knowledge of Hindi.

Preferential Qualifications:

Candidates possessing any of the following will be given preference:

1. At least 2 years of service in the Territorial Army, OR
2. Possession of a “B” or “C” certificate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
