MP Police SI Selection Process 2025

The selection process for MP Police Sub-Inspector consists of 2 stages, all of which candidates must qualify to be considered for final selection. The first stage is of preliminary examination and the second stage is divided into three parts, which are the Mains examination, physical test, and interview. • Preliminary Written Examination: The preliminary exam is a qualifying stage with multiple-choice questions and carries 100 marks for a duration of two hours. There is no negative marking in this stage. Questions will cover subjects such as Hindi comprehension, English comprehension, grammar, history, geography, science, civics, basic computer knowledge, technology, and current affairs. Marks obtained in the preliminary exam are not counted towards the final selection, but it is mandatory for all candidates.
• Main Written Examination: Candidates who clear the preliminary stage will appear for the main exam, which is divided into two parts, each carrying 300 marks with a two-hour duration. This stage also includes physical measurements, physical efficiency tests, and other assessments supervised by police headquarters.
  • Part I: Two sections of objective-type questions, with one-third negative marking for incorrect answers and no penalty for unattempted questions.
  • Part II: Section A contains objective questions, and Section B covers reasoning and data interpretation, with the same marking rules. Use of calculators is not allowed.

• Physical Eligibility Test & Physical Standard Test and Document Verification: A provisional merit list is prepared based on the main exam marks, calling three times the number of candidates in each category (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) for physical efficiency test, physical standard test, and document verification. If three times the number of candidates is insufficient, additional eligible candidates may be included.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 800m race (40), long jump (30), shot put (30)
