BSF Head Constable (RO/RM) Application Process 2023

The manner of application for BSF Radio Operator & Radio Mechanic 2023 is online. Before completing the online application form, you must have your personal information ready, including physical measurements (in cm), scanned copies of educational qualification documents, a passport-size photograph, and your signature. To apply for BSF RO recruitment, follow the processes outlined below. 

  • Check out the official webpage.
  • Go to the “Online Registration Page” and enter your phone number and email address. 
  • Submit your phone number and email address because your registration ID and password will be emailed to the contact information you provide. 
  • Your registered ID and password will be sent to your phone number and email address. 
  • Go to the Login Page and sign in to the application system with the registration ID and password you created. 
  • Fill out all the basic information requested in the application form and submit it.
  • Upload the scanned documents before paying the test fee through the provided online payment mechanism. 
  • Take a printout of the application form and the payment receipt for future reference.

Application Fees & Mode

  • Only male candidates belonging to General/EWS & OBC categories have to pay Rs. 100/- application Fee.
  • Male candidates belonging to SC/ST, ESM, BSF employees and Female candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

BSF Head Constable (RO/RM) Selection Process

The BSF RO RM selection process is rigorous and multi-stages, with the goal of identifying the most qualified and eligible individuals for the posts. A written examination, a physical standard test, a physical efficiency test, and a medical examination are all part of the BSF RO RM selection procedure.

The selection process for BSF RO/RM consists of the following three phases:

  • Phase-I

The written examination is the initial part of the selection process, and it assesses candidates' knowledge in a variety of areas, including General Awareness, Mathematics, Physics, and Radio Communication. The written exam is given in both Hindi and English and comprises multiple-choice questions.

  • Phase-II

PST, PET, and documentation are all required.

Candidates who pass the written examination are invited to the next stage, the Physical Standard Test (PST). Candidates are checked on numerous characteristics such as height, weight, chest measurement, and vision during the PST. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements are subsequently invited to the next level, the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Dictation and Paragraph Reading Tests (Only for HC(RO) candidates).

  • Phase-III

The last medical exam. The medical examination is the final stage of the selection process, in which candidates are examined by a competent medical practitioner to determine that they are fit and healthy enough to execute the duties of an RO or RM in the BSF.

  • For every wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
  • Type of questions – MCQ
  • For the post of HC (RO/RM), the question paper will be printed in both English and Hindi languages.
  • The qualifying marks for General/EWS/OBC candidates will be 38% and 33% for SC/ST candidates.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

To be considered for the post, candidates must pass the BSF RO RM Physical Test as well as the medical examination. Physical tests are an important part of the screening process, since they confirm that the candidates are physically fit and capable of managing the responsibilities of a Radio Operator / Radio Mechanic.

BSF Physical Efficiency Test (PET) consists of three parameters: a race, a long jump, and a high jump. Let's have a closer look at each of these parameters.

BSF Head Constable (RO/RM) Admit Card

Candidates, whose application forms are found to be correct in all respects by the Document Scrutiny Board, will be issued BSF Radio Operator/Radio Mechanic Admit Card for the CBT. Candidates can download their admit card once they are released by the BSF; the separate information will also be sent to them via e-mail and SMS. The steps to download the BSF RO/RM Admit Card 2023 are mentioned below:

Step I: Visit the Recruitment website of BSF or use the direct link given above.

Step II: Click on the Admit card download link given on the homepage.

Step III: Login to the portal using your Roll number and Date of Birth.

Step IV: Your Admit card will be displayed on the screen.

Step V: Make a hard copy of your admit card for future reference.

Note: If a candidate fails to bring the Admit Card and original ID proof, he/she will be denied entry to the exam centre.

The salary of the BSF Head Constable RO RM is as per the provision of 7th Pay Commission. The current BSF Head Constable RO/RM Salary is in the Level 4 Pay Matrix, with basic pay ranging from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100. In addition to the basic salary, the individual is entitled to various other allowances such as dearness allowance, ration money allowance, free accommodation, transport allowance and much more.
