The Indian Army has released the TGC 139 Notification (Technical Graduate Course) for unmarried Male Engineering Graduates on 27 September 2023, which offers aspirants the chance to enroll in the Indian Military Academy and become commissioned officers. Indian Army TGC 139 Vacancy

The TGC 139 course has a total of 30 vacancies in various engineering fields. Candidates with degrees in fields other than engineering are not eligible to apply. Any inconsistency between the engineering stream nomenclature on the degree parchment/mark sheet and the application will result in the cancellation of the candidature.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army TGC 139

Candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements set by the Indian Army to be considered for the TGC 139 course. Check all the essential eligibility in detail below:

Nationality

• Candidates must be Indian nationals, Nepalese subjects, or 
• People of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Ethiopia) and Vietnam with the purpose of permanently residing in India. 

Note: Provided, however, that a candidate from one of the aforementioned nations must be able to verify their nationality with a certificate of eligibility issued by the government of India (Not applicable to Gorkha subjects of Nepal).

Age Limit & Relaxation

The age of the candidate should be between 20 and 27 years as on 1 July 2024. (Applicants should be born between 2 July 1997, and 1 July 2004, both inclusive). 

Note: Only the date of birth recorded on the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate or an Equivalent Examination Certificate on the day of application submission will be accepted. No additional age-related documents will be accepted, and no later requests for changes will be considered or granted.

Educational Qualification

Applications are accepted from candidates who have completed the required Engineering Degree course or are in their last year of study.

Candidates in their final year of an engineering degree programme should be able to submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination, as well as the mark sheets of all semesters/years, by 1 July 2024. Also, the complete Engineering Degree Certificate should be submitted by the candidate within 12 weeks from the beginning of the course at the Indian Military Academy (IMA). 

Note: If candidates fail to present the required degree certificate, they will be inducted on an Additional Bond Basis to recover the cost of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) as notified from time to time, as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid.

Indian Army TGC 139 Application Process

The Indian Army TGC 139 application form is now available on the official website. Candidates should understand the essential processes required to fill out the application form so that they can complete the application procedure smoothly:

Step 1: Go to the official website of the Indian Army to apply for the TGC 139 immediately.

Step 2: You will be presented with two options: Login for existing users and Registration for new users.

Step 3: In the case of a New User, click the Registration button at the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Enter all of the requested information (Aadhaar Number, Candidate's Name, Parent's Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, and Mobile Number), then click the Submit button to continue.

Step 5: After that, the Apply Online option will appear on the screen, candidates must click on that option to access the TGC application form. 

Step 6: Finally, the candidates must mark the I agree checkbox.

Step 7: After the successful submission of the application form, download and print the TGC 139 final application form for future reference and documentation.

Selection Process of Indian Army TGC 139

The TGC 139 selection procedure consists of three stages:

Stage 1 Shortlisting

Stage 2 SSB interview

Stage 3 Medical Examination. 

To advance to Stage 2 and Stage 3, candidates must first qualify in the shortlisting stage 1 cut-off. The detailed information on each stage is as follows:

Stage 1 Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted by the HQ of MoD in the first stage based on their eligibility and the cut-off percentage in the final year of the engineering degree. Shortlisted candidates are subsequently invited to the SSB interview, which consists of various tests.

Stage 2 SSB Interview: Stage 2 of the Indian Army Technical Graduate Course (TGC) selection procedure included a 5-day SSB interview. The following space provides a detailed description of each test:

• A: Screening

The screening is the first step of the SSB Interview, during which the candidates' potential is assessed using the following tests:

• Nonverbal and Verbal Tests
• PPDT (Picture Perception of Discussion Test)

• B: Psychological Examination

The second step of the SSB Interview is a psychological test in which the candidate's mental prowess is evaluated; the many levels of the same include:

• TAT stands for Thematic Apperception Test.
• WAT stands for Word Association Test.
• SRT stands for Situation Reaction Test.
• SDT stands for Self-Description Test 

• C: GTO

The third round is the GTO (Group Testing Office), which is the most challenging step of all. It is developed in such a way that candidates' mental and physical abilities are assessed simultaneously. This level consists of nine distinct tasks, each with its own significance.

• Group Discussion (GD)
• GPE stands for Group Planning Exercise.
• Individual Obstacles Task (IOT)
• PGT stands for Progressive Group Task Activity.
• Half Group Task (HGT)
• Task Command
• Individual Lecturette in Snake Race/Group Obstacle Race
• Final Group Task (FGT)

• D: Interview

This Personal Interview assesses the candidates' general knowledge of several disciplines such as General Knowledge, Science, and key world events. However, clearing the Interview phase is not easy because it requires candidates to be mentally fit and alert throughout the Interview round.

• E: Conference 

The TGC SSB has reached its conclusion. The interview is straightforward and determines whether the candidate meets all of the requirements for the final round or not.

Stage 3 Medical Examination: The final step of the selection procedure is the medical examination, which entails examining the candidates' physical health. The Indian Army appoints a team of medical officers to conduct an overall check-up on the candidates to determine if their bodies are clear of sickness or deformity.

Indian Army TGC-139 Training Period

Selected students would spend roughly 12 months of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. Candidates who successfully complete training will be given the rank of Lieutenant. Candidates undergoing training are not permitted to marry or reside with their parents/guardians. Marrying during the training time may result in expulsion from the academy, and candidates will be required to reimburse the government for the cost of training.

Cost of Training. 

The full cost of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun is borne by the government. If the Gentleman Cadet is withdrawn from the Training Academy for reasons other than medical or for reasons beyond his control, he will be liable to refund the cost of training at the rate of 16260/- (as on 2023) per week and as notified from time to time (for the duration of the candidate's stay at the IMA, Dehradun). Candidates who withdraw for personal reasons will be reimbursed for the state's training costs.

Indian Army TGC-139 - Type of Commission

• Grant of Commission: Selected candidates for the TGC 139 course will be granted a Short Service Commission in the rank of Lieutenant on probation. This commission will take effect on the first day of the course or the first day of reporting to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, whichever comes first. 
• Permanent Commission: Cadets who successfully complete their training will be granted a Permanent Commission in the Army with the rank of Lieutenant.
• Ante-Date Commission: TGC Entry Engineering Graduates will be granted one year of ante-date seniority from the date of commission in the rank of Lieutenant.

Indian Army TGC 139 Admit Card

Once the official SSB dates are released, the Indian Army recruitment board will issue the Indian Army TGC Admit Card 2024. Candidates must ensure that they only download the Indian Army TGC Admit Card from the Indian Army's official website.

Admit cards for the Indian Army TGC 2024 are critical documents that must be brought to the testing centre. To obtain the admit card, candidates can follow these below-outlined steps:

Step 1: The first thing you should do is go to the Indian Army's official website.

Step 2: Navigate to the 'Recruitment' tab and select Admit Card 2024.

Step 3: Locate and click on the 'Indian Army TGC Admit Card' download link.

Step 4: On the new page, enter your login information. 

Step 5: You will be redirected to a new window where your e-admit card will be displayed on your screen. 

Step 6: Take a printout of the Indian Army TGC Admit Card and keep it safe with you.

Indian Army TGC 139 Result

After the selection procedure is concluded, the Indian Army TGC-139 Results 2024 will be announced. The Indian Army TGC (Technical Graduate Course) Results will be available on the Indian Army's official website. Along with the results, the cut-off marks and the merit list will be made public for the candidates. Indian Army TGC 139 Salary 

Gentlemen Cadets will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100/- (Starting Pay in Level 10 of Pay Matrix) for the duration of their training at the Service Academy, i.e. at IMA, Dehradun.
