On January 26, 2024, Tata Group and France's Airbus signed an agreement to manufacture civil helicopters "with significant indigenization and localization components." Under this agreement, both companies will manufacture H125 helicopters, which were signed during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to New Delhi.

  • The agreement was signed during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to India as the chief guest at India's 75th Republic Day celebrations.
  • Both companies finalised this agreement during the visit of Emmanuel Macron. Under this, Tata and Airbus will work together on the manufacturing of H125 helicopters.

Construction will be done for commercial use:

  • According to another report, these helicopters will be made for commercial use. Tata Group's Tata Advanced Systems Limited Company (TASL) will manage the assembly line for these helicopters.
  • According to officials associated with its construction, there is already a demand for 600 to 800 helicopters on the market from interested buyers. These helicopters will be manufactured in Vadodara, Gujarat.

 Manufacturing of C-295 transport aircraft:

  • Helicopters are important for nation-building.

Tata to set up India's first helicopter assembly facility:

  • Tata Group is excited to establish the inaugural private-sector helicopter assemble facility in India. The facility will house the final assembly line in partnership with Airbus for the world's best-selling Airbus H125 single-engine helicopter for the Indian and export markets.

Uses of H125 helicopter:

  • This multi-mission workhorse will revolutionise passenger and freight transportation.
