‘SVAMITVA Scheme’ has been awarded the Best Innovation Award for Innovation Sandbox Presentation during the Public Policy Dialogue-2024 organized by the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Lok Niti Samvad was organized by the Bharati Institute of Public Policy (BIPP), Hyderabad, Indian School of Business (ISB) from 3 to 5 January.
Ministry of Panchayati Raj participated in the Innovation Sandbox presentation and showcased “Digital Transformation Initiative in Land Management through SVAMITVA Scheme”.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj was awarded the first prize in the Innovation Sandbox presentation.
Other honours received by the SVAMITVA Scheme:
SVAMITVA Scheme received the prestigious Gold Award in the category “Using Emerging Technology to Provide Citizen-Centric Services” at the National Awards for e-Governance 2023 held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, in October 2023.
SVAMITVA Scheme was also awarded the Gold Award for the category “Innovative Use of Technology in e-Governance for Digital Transformation” at the Digitech Conclave 2023 held in Goa in August 2023.
About “SVAMITVA Scheme”:
The pilot phase of SVAMITVA Scheme was launched on 24 April 2020 for implementation for 2020-2021. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level on 24 April 2021.
This is a scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Uses innovation and new technologies to clearly identify land ownership in rural India.
Under this, accurate demarcation of land is being ensured through state-of-the-art drone surveys and GIS mapping technology.
Objective of “SVAMITVA Scheme”:
Its objective is to prepare housing rights records of the rural population using drone survey technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the Government of India, the State Revenue Department and Survey of India.
Target of “SVAMITVA Scheme”:
By the year 2023, drone surveys have been completed in 2.90 lakh villages.
So far, 1.66 crore property cards have been prepared for 1.06 lakh villages.
Property cards of the following states have been made in all villages of Haryana, Uttarakhand, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Goa.
It aims to cover 6.62 lakh villages across India by March 2025.
To create accurate land records and GIS maps for rural planning.
Distribution of property cards to provide a 'Record of Rights'.
To reduce property-related disputes.
