UP Cabinet approves UP Education Service Commission

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission Bill, 2023 was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 1 August 2023. The Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission and the Secondary Education Service Selection Board are to be accommodated in the UP Education Service Commission. Recruitment of teachers from higher to basic education, instructors and aided minority colleges will be done through the commission.

The headquarters of the new Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission will be in Prayagraj.

Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission Bill, 2023:

• The draft mentions that the proposed Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission will conduct the exercise for recruitment of teachers in various institutes of higher education, secondary education, basic education, vocational education, minority welfare and waqf department and labour department.

• The commission will have a chairperson and 12 members. The commission will be a regulated body.
