Delhi Lakshmi Yojana 2026 is a new welfare scheme by the Delhi government to support women financially and help them save for the future. Eligible women will get Rs. 2,500 every month. The government has kept Rs. 5,110 crore for this scheme in the 2026-27 budget. What is Delhi Lakshmi Yojana 2026?

Under this scheme, eligible women will get financial assistance monthly. This money is not given as plain cash. Instead, part of it goes into savings so that women build long-term financial security along with getting monthly help.

1. Monthly Financial Assistance: Every eligible woman gets Rs. 2,500 each month. This is meant to make women more financially independent and secure.
2. Budget Allocation: The Delhi Government has kept aside Rs. 5,110 crore in the 2026-27 Budget for this scheme, making it one of the biggest welfare programs for women in Delhi.
3. Registration Date: The online portal for registration opens on 1 August. Women need to register and get their documents checked before they can receive the money.
4. Expected Beneficiaries: The government expects more than 17 lakh women in Delhi to benefit, making this one of the largest direct money-support schemes for women in the city.
5. Savings Based Payment Model: Women can choose to put the full Rs. 2,500 into a Recurring Deposit (RD) or Fixed Deposit (FD) every month. Or they can split it — Rs. 1,500 into RD/FD and Rs. 1,000 into a Digital Rupee wallet.
6. Three Year Lock-in: Money kept in the Recurring Deposit stays locked for three years. After three years, the full amount along with the interest earned is sent to the woman's bank account.
7. Direct Benefit Transfer: The money will be sent straight to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts after checks are done, keeping the process clear and simple.

Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Eligibility Criteria 2026

Women must meet certain age, income, residence, and family conditions to get this benefit.

1. Age Requirement: Women between 21 and 60 years can apply. Only one woman per family can get the benefit.
2. Income Limit: The family's yearly income should not be more than Rs. 2.5 lakh. Income proof must be checked before approval.
3. Delhi Residency: The woman must have lived in Delhi for at least 10 years and must give a written statement confirming this.
4. Family Conditions: If more than one woman in a family is eligible, only the eldest one gets the benefit. The family should have no criminal record.

Who is Not Eligible for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana 2026?

1. Government Employees and Pensioners: Women working in government jobs, receiving pensions, or already getting help from another government scheme cannot apply.
2. Taxpayers and High-Income Households: Women from families that pay income tax, file GST returns, own a four-wheeler, or use more than 2,400 electricity units a year are not eligible.
3. Family Restrictions: Women with more than three living children cannot apply. Families with members working in Central or State Government, or Public Sector companies, are also not eligible.
