Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua has won the 72nd Miss Universe 2023 title. Sheynnis Palacios is the first woman from Nicaragua to be crowned Miss Universe. The 72nd Miss Universe pageant was held at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena, San Salvador, El Salvador.
- Sheynnis Palacios was born in 2000 and has a degree in Mass Communications. She is also a sports lover and has played varsity volleyball for her university.

- Sheynnis also won Miss World Nicaragua 2020 and represented her country at the Miss World 2021 pageant held in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2022. She was also a part of the top 40 finalists.
- This year, contestants from 84 countries and territories competed against each other in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant.
- Shennis is an avid Instagram and TikTok user. He has more than five lakh followers on Instagram.
Antonia Porsild from Thailand became the first runner-up:
- Contestants from 90 countries took part in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant. Moray Wilson of Australia clinched the second runner-up position, with Thailand's Antonia Porsild crowned as the first runner-up.
India has won this title three times:
- India has won this title a total of three times in this competition. The first crown was won by Sushmita Sen in the year 1994 while the second was won by Lara Dutta in the year 2000 and the third by Harnaz Sandhu in the year 2021.
