Ravindra Kumar Tyagi: Appointed As New CMD Of Power Grid Corporation

Public sector Maharatna company, POWERGRID Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has appointed Ravindra Kumar Tyagi as its new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).

Earlier, he was working as Director (Operations) of the company.
Ravindra Kumar Tyagi will replace Srikanth Kandikuppa.
Tyagi has over 33 years of experience working in various positions leading CPSUs in the power sector.
He has handled various Power Grid business areas: Asset Management, Engineering, Business Development (Domestic and Overseas), Telecom, Load Despatch and communication NTAMC and DMS.
Tyagi has done Electrical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh.
He has an M.Tech in Energy Study from IIT Delhi.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID):

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is a Schedule 'A', 'Maharatna' Public Sector Enterprise of the Government of India.
It was established as National Power Transmission Corporation Limited on 23 October 1989 under the Companies Act 1956.
In October 1992, it was named Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID).
POWERGRID is a listed company in which the Government of India holds 51.34% stake and the remaining stake is held by institutional investors and the public.
