In the Vote on Account (Budget) of the Rajasthan Government, Finance Minister Diya Kumari has announced the launch of ‘Lado Protsahan Yojana’ in the state. Under this scheme, it has been announced to give savings bonds of Rs 1 lakh to those girls whose families are poor.

  • This Lado Protsahan Yojana is being seen as an exercise to build the future of daughters of poor families.
  • In the first budget of Rajasthan's Bhajan Lal government, two big announcements have been made for girl and women safety.
  • It is important to increase the relief amount given to pregnant women from Rs 5000 to Rs 6500. The woman and her child will directly benefit from this.
  • The Rajasthan government will give Rs 6500 to the pregnant women of the state, which is Rs 1500 more than Rs 5000 given by the previous government.

Lakhpati Didi Scheme:

  • The Rajasthan government has also announced the Lakhpati Didi scheme in the budget. Five lakh women will be given skills under this scheme with this skill, women can earn Rs 1 lakh per year.

Matru Vandana Yojana:

  • Assistance to pregnant women has been announced under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. A budget of Rs 90 crore has been given under this scheme.
  • The amount received under this scheme has been increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,500.

Rajasthan government made provisions for women in Budget 2024-25:

  • A provision of Rs 20 crore has been made to establish an Adarsh Angbadi in each block of Rajasthan.
  • 73 lakh women are getting LPG gas cylinders for Rs 450.

Welfare schemes being run for women in other states:

  • Various schemes are run in many states of the country to encourage the birth of daughters and to make them educated and empowered in the society. Their aim is to increase the number of girls in the society and provide financial assistance to meet their future needs. Some of those major schemes are being mentioned as follows:

UP Bhagya Laxmi Yojana:

  • The Uttar Pradesh government runs many types of schemes for daughters in the state and one of them is UP Bhagya Lakshmi Yojana.
  • Its objective is to provide financial help in the education and marriage of poor girls and to stop female foeticide.
  • Under this, the Uttar Pradesh government gives a bond of Rs 50 thousand to the parents on the birth of a girl child. At the same time, after 21 years this bond matures to Rs 2 lakh.

Chief Minister Rajshree Yojana:

  • The Rajasthan government will give Rs 50,000 in 6 installments to the daughters of the state under the Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana.
  • Under this scheme, Rs 2500 is given at the time of birth of a girl child.
  • After this, after completion of one year, Rs 2,500 is given again.
  • On taking admission in the first class, one gets four thousand rupees.
  • When the girl reaches class 6, Rs 5,000 is given.
  • After reaching 10th, Rs 11 thousand and after passing 12th, Rs 25 thousand come into the account.

Aapaki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana:

  • The Haryana government started this scheme in 2015.
  • The objective of this scheme is to prevent feticide.
  • Under this, the Haryana government provides financial assistance of Rs 21,000 at the time of the birth of a girl child.

Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana:

  • This scheme was started by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 2016. Its objective is to increase the number of girls and provide financial assistance to meet their future needs.
  • Under this, the Maharashtra government gives Rs 50,000 on the birth of a daughter if certain conditions are fulfilled.
  • Under this, the government gives money even if there is a second daughter. Only permanent residents of Maharashtra can avail the benefits of Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme.

Hamari Kanya Hamara Abhiman: 

  • The Uttarakhand government had started this scheme to improve the social and economic condition of girls in the state. Initially the name of this scheme was Nanda Devi Kanya Yojana.
  • The name of Kanya Yojana has been changed since 2014.
  • Under the Hamari Beti Hamara Abhiman Yojana, which is run with the aim of preventing female feticide, two daughters from every family get the benefit.

Ladli Lakshmi Yojana:

  • It is a scheme launched by the Madhya Pradesh government in 2007 to empower the daughters of the state. Through this, financial assistance is provided to the daughters of the state.
  • After registration in Ladli Lakshmi Yojana, the government gives Rs 1 lakh 43 thousand to the daughters in different installments.
    • 2 thousand rupees on entering class 6,
    • 4 thousand rupees on admission in 9th,
    • A scholarship of Rs 6,000 each is given on admission in class 11th and 12th.
    • On taking admission in graduation or professional courses after 12th, Rs 25,000 is given in two different installments.
  • Not only this, if the daughter turns 21 and is not married, a lump sum amount of Rs 1 lakh is given by the government.
