Tata Group is now going to manufacture iPhone in India for domestic and global consumers. Because Tata Group has decided to buy the Bangalore plant of iPhone manufacturing company Wistron in India.
How much was the deal between Tata and Wistron?
- For this, Tata Group has signed a deal with Wistron for about $ 125 million (Rs 1,040 crore).
- Wistron Corp has announced this decision after the meeting of the Board of Directors on October 27, 2023.
- Wistron Corp approved its subsidiaries, SMS Infocomm (Singapore) Pvt Ltd and Wistron Hong Kong Ltd to sign share purchase agreements for the sale of all shares with Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd (TEPL).
- With this, Tata Group is all set to become India's first iPhone manufacturer. The group will soon start manufacturing iPhones from India for domestic and global markets.
