Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav hit his hundredth six in the third T20 International match of the five-match series being played between India and West Indies.
Suryakumar Yadav achieved this feat only in his 49th T20 International match, becoming the first Indian batsman and second international batsman to do so.
Surya has hit 101 sixes in 49 innings. Before Surya, Evin Lewis of West Indies achieved this feat in 42 matches. Surya has equaled Chris Gayle. Gayle also achieved this feat in 49 matches. While Aaron Finch achieved this feat in 90 matches.
Prior to batsman Suryakumar Yadav, two more batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have achieved this feat.
Rohit Sharma has hit 182 sixes in 140 innings while Virat Kohli has hit 117 sixes in 107 innings. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav has hit 101 sixes in 49 innings on 8 August 2023.
Suryakumar is the second top scorer in T20 Internationals at this West Indies stadium. He played an inning of 83 runs on 44 balls. The top scorer at this ground is Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene. He scored 100 off 64 balls against Zimbabwe in 2010.
This was Suryakumar Yadav's 51st match for India. Surya has won the Player of the Match award for the 12th time. Rohit has 12 Player of the Match awards in 148 matches.
