India Wins FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup 2025–26, Defeats New Zealand 2-0 in Final

On 21 June 2026, the Indian women's hockey team lifted the FIH Hockey Women's Nations Cup 2026 title after beating host nation New Zealand 2-0 in the final held in Auckland. India did not lose a single match in the entire tournament. This is India's second Nations Cup title; they had won it the first time back in 2022 (Valencia, Spain) as well. Along with the trophy, India also earned promotion back to the elite FIH Pro League. New Zealand won silver, and the USA won bronze in the FIH Women’s Nations Cup 2026.

Vice-captain Navneet Kaur opened the scoring in just the 4th minute, and Sunelita Toppo made it 2-0 in the 15th minute. Both goals came in the first quarter itself, and New Zealand simply had no answer after that. Lalremsiami was outstanding throughout and was named the Player of the Match in the final. Meanwhile, Deepika had a brilliant tournament, finishing as the joint top scorer with 6 goals.
