19th Bharat Scouts & Guides National Jamboree in Lucknow 2024

The 19th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides will be organized under the hosting of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This event, to be held in Lucknow from 23 to 29 November, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 November.

• The 19th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides will be organized under the hosting of Uttar Pradesh. It is a week-long mega camp in which thousands of youth from India and abroad will come together.
• This event, to be held in Vrindavan Yojana of Lucknow from 23 to 29 November, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 November.
• Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is constructing a gated tent city with world-class facilities, ensuring the safety and comfort of 35,000 participants.

National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guide’s Previous Edition

• The 18th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG India) was organized from 4 to 10 January, 2023 at Rohat in Pali district of Rajasthan on the theme "Progress with Peace."
• The first Jamboree in India was organized in 1953 in Hyderabad, while Uttar Pradesh hosted the fourth edition in Prayagraj in 1964. Now, six decades later, Lucknow will once again host this historic event.
• The Jamboree will include adventure sports, science and cultural activities, as well as inculcation of the values of discipline, teamwork, self-reliance, and leadership. More than 32,000 participants will join, and the address of the Prime Minister is expected to be a major highlight.
• It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi has had a long association with scouting and had participated in the Jamboree organized in Ahmedabad in 2009 as the Chief Minister of Gujarat during the centenary year of scouting, as stated in the release.
