Ministry of Tribal Affairs announced the nationwide observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Pakhwada from November 1 to 15, 2026. The fortnight of events will culminate on November 15, 2026, marking Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.

This annual national event commemorates the birth anniversary of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The initiative honors tribal freedom fighters and celebrates the rich cultural heritage, traditional knowledge systems, and historic contributions of indigenous communities across India.

• National Tribal Literary Festival: Organised at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on November 12 and 13, bringing together prominent indigenous authors and poets.
• Preservation of Tribal Languages: IIT Delhi will host a national workshop on Adi Vaani, establishing a central repository for preserving endangered indigenous dialects.
• Rani Durgavati Adivasi Mahila Sammelan: Scheduled for November 14, gathering 500 tribal women entrepreneurs from 30 States and UTs to expand market linkage networks.
• Traditional Healers Certification: Hyderabad will host a major conclave on November 1 and 2, training 1,500 traditional medical practitioners as part of a national goal to certify one lakh tribal healers.
