National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the maximum retail prices (MRPs) of 543 cancer drug brands and pack sizes. This regulatory step brings significant financial relief to patients using generic and biosimilar formulations, with price drops exceeding 90 percent on select formulations.
However, high-cost immunotherapy drugs—such as Keytruda (pembrolizumab)—remain listed at ₹2,16,500 per 100 mg vial. The revised pricing framework officially takes effect on November 9, 2026.
Despite the broad intervention, 65 high-cost, single-source oncology drugs recorded no price reductions.
