IPEF to organize Clean Economy Investor Forum in Singapore in June 24

It has been decided to organize the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Clean Economy Investor Forum in Singapore.

The IPEF Forum aims to mobilize investments for sustainable infrastructure, climate technology and renewable energy projects.
IPEF Forum has sought applications from technology companies and startups to showcase Indian investment sustainable infrastructure projects on EV, solar energy.

About Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF):

The Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity was launched in May 2022.
IPEF is a US-led initiative. It aims to strengthen the economic partnership between the participating countries to enhance equity and competitiveness in the Indo-Pacific region.
Currently it includes 14 participating countries. Mainly in this:
- Australia
- Brunei Darussalam
- Fiji
- India
- Indonesia
- Japan
- Republic of Korea
- Malaysia
- New Zealand
- Philippines
- Singapore
- Thailand
- USA
- Vietnam
It provides a platform for countries in the Indo-Pacific region to cooperate in pursuing resilient, sustainable and inclusive economic development.
IPEF aims to contribute to cooperation, stability and prosperity in the region.

Cooperation in IPEF is carried out on four different pillars. These pillars are as follows:
- Business
- The Supply Chain
- Clean Economy
- Fair Economy.
IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum is an initiative under IPEF.
It brings together the region's top investors, philanthropists, financial institutions, new companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
The forum aims to mobilize investment in sustainable infrastructure, climate technology and renewable energy projects.

The Department of Commerce is the nodal agency for IPEF related work. The IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum is managed by Invest India, India's national investment promotion agency.
India will demonstrate its leadership in the clean economy sector, highlighting the innovative solutions that are propelling it forward. It will also showcase some of the largest infrastructure projects and top climate tech companies in the clean economy for investment opportunities to global investors.
This forum will have opportunities for Indian industry in the following two tracks. PwC Singapore and HolonIQ are the knowledge partners for the tracks.

Under this, IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum is organizing an open call.
It aims to recognize the top climate tech companies and start-ups among member countries. Also they have to be presented before global investors. Climate technology entrepreneurs and companies in India are eligible to apply under this track.
These applications will be evaluated by regional and industry experts. The top 100 companies will be announced as early as May 2024. Shortlisted companies will be invited to showcase and present at the Investor Forum in Singapore on 5 to 6 June 2024.

Under this track, India will showcase selected investable sustainable infrastructure projects at the 2024 Forum.
Areas of focus are – Energy Transition, Transport and Logistics, Waste Management/Waste to Energy.
Projects that are either ready for private investment or anticipated to be ready within the next 18 months will receive priority for showcasing at the Forum.
