Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal is set to represent India at the G20 Energy Ministerial Meeting in the United States. This event brings together top energy officials from G20 nations to discuss pressing global energy challenges and future strategies.
Shri Manohar Lal will take part in ministerial discussions organised around three major themes. The first pillar, "Energy Security and Affordable Baseload," will look at ensuring steady and cost-effective energy supply.ย
The second, "Permitting and Regulatory Efficiency," focuses on speeding up energy infrastructure projects through smoother regulatory processes.ย
The third pillar, "Critical Minerals & Resilient Supply Chains," addresses the need for secure and diversified sourcing of minerals essential for modern energy systems.
During the sessions, the Minister is expected to showcase India's efforts in building a strong and adaptable energy system capable of supporting its fast-growing energy demand. He will also share India's experience in improving regulatory and institutional processes to speed up project approvals. Additionally, he will highlight India's focus on diversifying critical mineral sources, promoting recycling and circularity, and strengthening the entire mineral value chain.
