Establishment of the Award

This award was established in 2015 to honor world leaders who promote ethical courage, moral governance, and compassion in global affairs.

Presenting the award in Portland, BGF co-founder and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan praised Gurudev for bridging Eastern wisdom with Western innovation and called him a “spiritual beacon” whose work symbolizes moral courage and humanity in the AI era.
BGF specifically recognized his contributions to direct conflict mediation, peace education, dialogue, and inner transformation in regions such as Colombia, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Venezuela, and Kashmir.
Sustainable peacebuilding in 180 countries, based not on rhetoric but on real-world action, Gurudev’s peace efforts have transcended geographical and political boundaries, influencing both grassroots and global platforms.

FIFA announced the Peace Award for the 2026 World Cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced the launch of the FIFA Peace Award, which will be presented for the first time on December 5, 2025, at the 2026 World Cup Draw in Washington, D.C.
Officially titled “FIFA Peace Award - Football Unites the World,” this new annual award will honor those who have made exceptional efforts to promote peace through football.
Infantino described it as a symbol of the sport’s moral responsibility to promote unity in a world struggling with conflict and division.
Infantino said, “Football is a symbol of peace.” “On behalf of the entire global football community, this award will recognize the tireless efforts of individuals who bring people together and inspire hope for future generations.”
