The Uttar Pradesh government of Yogi Adityanath will set up the country’s first museum of Hindi literature in Kashi (Varanasi). The museum will be the country’s first museum dedicated to a language. 

There is a literary museum in Kolkata dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore, but the proposed museum in Kashi will be the first language-based museum in the country. 

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated Rs 25 crore for the project.

The museum will conserve and display the works of all the eminent Hindi scholars' old manuscripts and books. Along with the work of famous Hindi litterateurs, their photographs, important documents, and related literature will also be available in the museum. The museum will also have statues of the Hindi scholars, an amphitheatre and an auditorium.

UP government releases Rs 163.151 crore as compensation to farmers 

The Uttar Pradesh government has released Rs 163.151 crore as compensation to farmers of the state whose crops have been damaged due to recent floods. 

In Uttar Pradesh the state government provides compensation to the farmers for crop losses exceeding 33 percent due to unseasonal rains. hailstorms, and floods. 

Around 1,10,989.26 hectares of crops in 34 districts in the state have been affected due to the release of excess water from Nepal and the overflowing rivers from the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. 

Rivers and flooding of district 

Lakhimpur Kheri is the most affected district of the state, where the Sharda and Ghaghra rivers have caused massive flooding and destroyed standing paddy crops. The farmers of the Lakhimpur Kheri have also received the highest compensation from the state government.

The Narayani (Gandak) River has caused floods in Kushinagar, the Ghaghra River has caused floods in Barabanki, Ayodhya, and Ballia; the Rapti River in Gorakhpur; the Budhi Rapti in Siddharth Nagar; and the Kuwano River in Gonda.

The other affected district are Ambedkarnagar, Auraiya, Azamgarh, Badaun, Bahraich, Balrampur, Banda, Barabanki, Basti, Bulandshahr, Farrukhabad, Hamirpur, Hardoi, Hathras, Jalaun, Jhansi, Kanpur Dehat, Kushinagar, Mau, Mirzapur, Pilibhit, Rampur, Saharanpur, Shahjahanpur, Shravasti, Sitapur, and Varanasi.
