To empower entrepreneurs with disabilities, Divya Kala Mela is being organized in Nagpur (Maharashtra) from 12 January to 21 January 2024.

Organiser of Divya Kala Mela:

It is organised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPWD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, with the help of NDFDC. NDFDC stands for National Disabled Finance and Development Corporation.

Through the Divya Kala Mela, the products and craftsmanship of disabled entrepreneurs/artisans from across the country are showcased.
The Mela promises to offer visitors a captivating experience.
The Mela emphasizes vibrant products from various regions of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern States.
Around 100 artisans/artists and entrepreneurs with disabilities from around 20 States/UTs will showcase their products and skills in Nagpur. It will showcase products falling under various categories such as:
- Home Decor and Lifestyle
- Clothes
- Stationery and Eco-Friendly Products
- Packaged Food
- Organic Products
- Toys and Gifts
- Personal Accessories – Jewellery, Clutch Bag Painting etc.
The event encourages the 'Vocal for Local' initiative by providing a venue for everyone to appreciate and purchase products created by dedicated Divyang craftsmen.
The 10-day 'Divya Kala Mela', Nagpur (Maharashtra) will be open from 11.00 am to 9.00 pm. It will witness a range of cultural activities including performances by Divyangjan artists and renowned professionals.
At this event, visitors can also enjoy their favorite foods from different regions of the country.

This is a unique initiative of DEPWD towards the economic empowerment of Divyangjan.
The Divya Kala Mela provides an excellent platform for marketing and showcasing the products and skills of people with disabilities (PWD).
Divya Kala Mela, Nagpur is the 13th fair in the series starting from 2022. Earlier Divya Kala Melas were organized in: Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Guwahati, Indore etc.
The 12th fair was held in Surat from 29 December 23 to 7 January 2024.

It is an apex organisation under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. NDFDC has been operational since 1997.
NDFDC is owned by the Government of India.
It acts as an apex body for the welfare of people with disabilities.
The Department has a scheme to promote the concept of empowerment for persons with disabilities, as part of which 'Divya Kala Mela' is being organised across the country.
