Every year, thousands of aspirants apply for the MPPSC State Services Exam. The MPPSC administers the exam to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Naib Tehsildar, among others. However, each year's results show that only a thousand or fewer aspirants pass. Throughout their journey to become a gazetted officer in the state, many aspirants might have one question in their minds: How can I get the highest post and with which ranks?

The rank-wise posts for the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission State Services Examination (MPPSC SSE) may vary from year to year, depending on vacancies and administrative requirements. We have provided a list of the MPPSC SSE 2023 posts and their job descriptions.

The Highest Post in the MPPSC

The MPPSC exam provides entry to some of the best jobs in the state. These positions provide excellent opportunities for career growth and job security. The selection process for these posts is highly competitive, and candidates must pass the MPPSC exam with high marks to be considered. State governors make all appointments to State Services (Group A). 

The top jobs offered through the MPPSC exam 2023 are given below.

Gazetted Officer Posts

  • Deputy Collector (State Civil Service): This is one of the most in-demand jobs available through the MPPSC exam. The Deputy Collector is responsible for maintaining law and order, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring government policies are effectively implemented in the districts.
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) (State Police Service): The DSP is in charge of keeping the district's law and order. They collaborate closely with local police and law enforcement agencies to ensure citizens' safety and security.
  • Block Development Officer: The Block Development Officer is in charge of the block's overall development. They carry out government schemes and programs to improve the living conditions of residents in the block.
  • Naib Tehsildar: The Naib Tehsildar is in charge of keeping the district's revenue records. They make certain that the revenue records are up-to-date and accurate.

Executive Posts

  • Excise Sub Inspector: After successfully completing the MPPSC Excise Sub Inspector requirements, a candidate will be assigned the following responsibilities:
    • Collection of Excise rentals on time.
    • Conducting inspections of all excise licensees under /her jurisdiction.
    • Gathering information on the illegal manufacture and sale of illicit liquor and planning regular raids.
  • Chief Municipal Officer: He or she will be the council's Principal Executive Officer, in charge of producing records, correspondence plans, and other documents for the council. Other responsibilities include submitting any return, plan, estimate, statement, or statistics to the council. Executing all the powers expressly delegated by the Municipal Acts and Rules and implementing Council decisions made under Acts and Rules. As requested by the Council, submit a periodic progress report.
  • Cooperative Inspector: As this is primarily a field job rather than an office desk job, the cooperative inspector performs multidimensional duties, primarily supervising all cooperative societies within its circle area, such as agriculture, labour and construction, housing, marketing, milk cooperatives, etc. In short, such societies adhere to established rules and prevent embezzlement or misappropriation of funds. Second, they must work as a manager to implement and carry out schemes and policies related to the state cooperative department, i.e. social welfare. Third, they must serve as an arbitrator (judge) in cooperative society arbitration cases. Fourth, they serve as a returning officer and election manager during the election of primary cooperative societies' management committees, among other things.
