Indian tennis player Yuki Bhambri and his French partner Albano Olivetti won the 2024 BMW Open tennis tournament title. The BMW Open tennis title, also popularly known as Bavarian International Tennis Championship, is an ATP 250 event which is played on the clay court. ATP 250 events mean that the winner gets 250 ranking points. The BMW Open is held in Munich, Germany.
Yuki Bhambri also became the first Indian tennis player to win the Bavarian International Tennis Championships, which has been held since 1899.
The BMW Open title was the second ATP tour title for Yuki Bhambari . Last year he won the Mallorca Open doubles title, which was also a 250 ATP ranked tournament.
In Munich, the pair of Yuki Bhambri and Albano Olivetti defeated the German pair of Andreas Mies and Jan-Lennard Struff 7-6(6), 7-6(5) in an hour and 51 minutes.
This was the first ATP title for Yuki Bhambri and Albano Olivetti as a pair.
This victory has earned valuable ranking points for Yuki Bhambari . He has jumped to his career best ranking of world no.56 in the ATP doubles ranking.
The 33-year-old German Jean Lennard Struff won his maiden ATP title by defeating Taylor Fritz of the United States of America in the final of the BMW Open tennis title.
