Yatin Bhaskar Duggal from Haryana won the first prize in the National Youth Parliament Festival 2024, while Vaishna Pitchai from Tamil Nadu won the second prize, and Kanishka Sharma from Rajasthan won the third prize. 

About National Youth Parliament

  • The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and National Service Scheme (NSS), has been conducting Youth Parliament events such as District Youth Parliament, State Youth Parliament, and National Youth Parliament.
  • These events aim to strengthen democracy, promote tolerance of differing views, and educate youths about parliamentary practices. 
  • Youth Parliaments also promote awareness of the importance of active citizenship and encourage youth engagement and participation, while developing leadership qualities and enabling them to realize their full potential to contribute to nation-building.
  • The National Youth Parliament Festival (NYPF) is based on an idea introduced by the Prime Minister during his Mann Ki Baat Address on December 31, 2017. 
  • The third and fourth National Youth Parliament Festival 2022 and 2023 respectively was held virtually at the District and State levels from  at the Central Hall of Parliament, New Delhi.
  • National Youth Parliament 2024 is based on the 'Young Voices: Engage and Empower for Nation’s Transformation’ theme.
  • The National Youth Parliament Festival took place from 9th Feb. 2024 to 6th March 2024 across India. 
  • The event was divided into three levels, and it would cover 785 districts in India. 
  • The first level, District Youth Parliament, held from 9th Feb 2024 to 14th Feb 2024. 
  • The winners of the District Youth Parliament participated in the State Youth Parliament from 19th to 24th Feb 2024.
  • India is moving from net importer to net exporter, from UPI to Artificial Intelligence and from My Bharat to Viksit Bharat, such a platform would strengthen India’s economy.
