According to data released by the US Census Bureau, the world population increased by 75 million people last year and will exceed 8 billion on January 1, 2024.
Key points of the report:
- The estimated world population on January 1, 2024 will be 8,019,876,189.
- The world population figure on January 1, 2023 was 7.94 billion.
- The global population is expected to increase by approximately 75 million in 2023.
- The worldwide growth rate in 2023 was just less than 1 percent.
- By the beginning of 2024, there are projected to be 4.3 births and two deaths every second worldwide.
- It took about 11 years for the population to increase by 1 billion.
- It will take about 14 years for the population to reach 9 billion.
US population figures:
- On January 1, 2024, America's population will reach approximately 335.9 million.
- An increase of about 17.59 lakh was recorded in the year 2023.
- In 2024, one child will be born every 9 seconds in America.
- One person will die there every 9.5 seconds.
Other important points:
- According to the UN Report-2022, by 2050 half of the global population will be in only 8 countries.
- These include India, Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines and Tanzania.
- The population of 61 countries will decline between 2022 and 2050, including most European countries.
