India's First Virtual Zoo Inaugurated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh
Updated: 17 Aug 2026

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated India's first 14D Virtual Zoo and Digital Jungle Safari at Kamala Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya in Indore. The facility, spread across 8,000 square feet, opened to the general public soon after its inauguration, offering visitors a technology-driven way to experience wildlife and jungle environments.
The project was built at a cost of ₹4.5 crore, executed through a public-private partnership (PPP) model by the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC). According to officials, the initiative aims to promote environmental conservation education, reduce children's dependence on mobile screens, and make wildlife learning more accessible through digital technology.
Officials have described this as India's first 14D Virtual Zoo and Safari set up within a zoo. The facility includes a 14D cinema theatre fitted with a waterproof screen imported from South Korea, along with a digital jungle safari and an immersive 3D dome theatre. The 14D experience combines 14 different sensory effects, including synchronised moving seats, water sprays, wind blasts, fog, bubbles, and vibrations, designed to make the viewing experience feel far more real and engaging.
Beyond the cinema and dome theatre, the facility includes several themed zones for visitors to explore, such as a gorilla-shaped entrance gate, neon-lit 3D jungle pathways, a glow garden with fibre-optic lighting, a roar-simulating maze, and a mirror bridge that displays a Hanuman hologram.
The digital jungle safari component offers visitors a 360-degree simulated experience of a wildlife safari, allowing them to explore animal habitats and jungle settings virtually, without the constraints of a traditional physical safari.
The facility operates Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm, hosting 16 shows daily, each lasting 20 minutes. A single ticket priced at ₹70 per person grants access to all three attractions — the 14D theatre, the digital safari, and the 3D dome theatre.
