Adani Defence to build South Asia's Largest Private-Sector Missile Ecosystem in Shivpuri, MP

Adani Defence & Aerospace broke ground on a ₹2,500-crore defence manufacturing facility in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, on July 5, 2026. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone at Pali village along National Highway 27. Adani Group Director Jeet Adani also attended the ceremony, announcing the group's target of creating 1.20 lakh jobs in Madhya Pradesh by 2030.

Adani Defence to invest Rs 2,500 crore in missile manufacturing complex in Madhya Pradesh

The Shivpuri facility will be the first of its kind in India's private sector, bringing composite propellant production, Trinitrotoluene (TNT) manufacturing, and missile system integration all under one roof at a single location. 

1. The plant will produce ammunition, high-tech weapons, and mission-ready missiles, directly supporting the Indian Armed Forces. 
2. It will also accelerate the transition of DRDO-developed missile systems from successful trials to serial production systems.
3.  Already in the pipeline are NGARM, RUDRAM-II, NASM-SR, the Long-Range Glide Bomb Gaurav, and the TARA system.
4. The investment is expected to generate 5,000 direct and indirect skilled jobs immediately while opening up fresh opportunities for MSMEs across the region.

Madhya Pradesh as India's Strategic Defence Hub

1. Jyotiraditya Scindia called it a historic moment, with weapons and missiles built by Shivpuri's youth strengthening the Indian Army. MP CM Mohan Yadav framed it as proof that the state is becoming a preferred destination for strategic manufacturing.
2. Adani Defence has already run a small arms ecosystem in Gwalior since 2020, supplying pistols, assault rifles, carbines, and light machine guns to the armed forces. Shivpuri adds a much bigger layer to that foundation.
