During the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Rajasthan' program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 17,000 crore in Rajasthan. The projects cover vital sectors such as roads, railways, solar energy, power transmission, drinking water, and petroleum & natural gas. 

  • The event was organized to inaugurate several national highway projects that cost more than Rs 5,000 crores together. The objectives of these projects is to improve connectivity in the region. 

Road projects

  • The Prime Minister of India recently inaugurated several National Highway projects worth over Rs 5000 crores in Rajasthan. 
  • The projects included three packages of
  •  8-lane Delhi-Mumbai Greenfield Alignment (NE-4): Baonli - Jhalai road to Mui Village section, Harduaganj Village, and Takli to Rajasthan/MP Border section. 

Rail project

The following are the railway developments in Rajasthan:

- Electrification of three rail routes: 

Jodhpur-Rai Ka Bagh-Merta Road-Bikaner section (277 Km), 

Jodhpur-Phalodi section (136 Km), and 

Bikaner-Ratangarh-Sadulpur-Rewari section (375 Km).

- Khatipura railway station has been set up as a satellite station for Jaipur and is equipped with a 'Terminal facility' where trains can originate and terminate.

- Maintenance facility for Vande Bharat sleeper trains has been established at Bhagat Ki Kothi (Jodhpur).

- Maintenance of all rakes, such as Vande Bharat, LHB, etc., has been set up at Khatipura (Jaipur).

- Construction of a coach care complex for train maintenance has been initiated at Hanumangarh.

- Doubling of Bandikui to Agra Fort rail line has been undertaken.

Barsingsar Solar Project

  • The Prime Minister inaugurated the NLCIL Barsingsar Solar Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. 

The plant has a capacity of 300 MW and is situated in the Barsingsar Thermal Power Station. 

Jal Jeevan Mission

  • The foundation stone of multiple projects worth Rs 2400 crores, including projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
  • Jal Jeevan Mission aims at strengthening the infrastructure to provide clean drinking water in Rajasthan.

LPG Bottling Plant: 

  • Indian Oil's LPG bottling plant at Jodhpur was inaugurated. 
  • The bottling plant has state-of-the-art infrastructure and automation system, which is necessary for operation and safety, 
  • It will create more employment opportunities and cater to the LPG needs of lakhs of regional customers.
