Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Petronet LNG's Petrochemicals Complex in Dahej on 11 March 2024. Also, the PM dedicated 50 'Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra' to the nation from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Main programmes launched by Prime Minister in Dahej:

  • The PM laid the foundation stone of several projects worth Rs 1,06,000 crore to boost railway infrastructure, connectivity and the petrochemical sector. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also inaugurated several projects.

Approval for expansion of four Vande Bharat trains:

  • On this occasion, the Prime Minister also flagged off the expansion of four Vande Bharat trains.
    • Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat up to Dwarka
    • Ajmer-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Vande Bharat up to Chandigarh
    • Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat to Prayagraj
    • Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat up to Mangaluru.
  • Two new passenger trains commenced operations, connecting Asansol to Hatia and Tirupati to Kollam stations.

Green flag given to goods trains on dedicated freight corridor:

  • The Prime Minister also flagged off goods trains on the dedicated freight corridor from various places. These are:
    • New Khurja Junction
    • Sahnewal
    • New Rewari
    • New Kishangarh
    • New Gholvad
    • New Makarpura.

Main projects launched by Prime Minister from Ahmedabad:

  • The PM inaugurated 51 Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals across the nation. These terminals will promote seamless movement of goods through various modes of transport.
  • The Prime Minister dedicated to the nation 1045 kilometer route automatic signaling in 80 sections.
  • This upgrade will enhance the safety and efficiency of train operations.
  • The Prime Minister also dedicated digital controlling of railway stations at 2646 stations to the nation. This will enhance the operational efficiency and safety of trains.
  • The Prime Minister inaugurated 35 rail coach restaurants nationwide. Rail coach restaurants aim to cater to the needs of passengers and the public while generating non-fare revenue for the Railways.
  • The Prime Minister dedicated to the nation more than 1500 One Station One Product stalls across the country. Local products will be available for sale at these stalls. This would increase the earnings of local artisans and businessmen.
  • The Prime Minister dedicated solar energy powered stations/buildings at 975 places to the nation.
  • This initiative would aid India's renewable energy objectives and lower Railways' carbon emissions.
  • The PM also laid the foundation stone of Ekta Mall in two states, Gujarat and Maharashtra. This would cost approximately Rs 400 crore.
  • Ekta Malls to exhibit India's rich heritage including handlooms, traditional items, & ODOP products.
