The Australian driver Oscar Piastri won his first Formula One title by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix on 21 July 2204. The Hungarian Grand Prix was held at Hungaroring racing track in the small Hungarian town of Mogyoród on 21 July 2024.
Oscar Piastri of team McLaren finished first, and his teammate Lando Norris came second. Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes came in third.
The 2024 Formula One season will have 24 Grand Prix. The Hungarian Grand Prix was the 13th race of the 2024 season.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull leads the points table with seven wins and 265 points. In second place is Lando Norris of the McLaren team.
Formula One is a motor car racing sport organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).
Tadej Pogacar wins the Tour de France Title
The Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar won the 2024 Tour de France bicycle race. It was his third Tour de France title. In second place was the defending champion, Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark.
The Tour de France is considered to be the most prestigious bicycle race in the world. It was started in 1903 by Henri Desgrange. The race lasts around three weeks and covers 3600 kilometres, mainly in France. It is held every year except during the World Wars.
The Tour de France, Giro d’Italia (held in Italy), and Vuelta a España(held in Spain) are considered to be the three top bicycle races in the world.
The winner of the Tour de France is given a yellow jersey.
Manolo Marquez to be the Head Coach Of Indian Men's Football Team
The national football governing body, All India Football Federation (AIFF), has appointed Manolo Marquez of Spain as the head coach of the Indian men’s football team.
He replaces Igor Stimac, who was sacked by the AIFF after the Indian team failed to qualify for the third round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after losing to Qatar and Afghanistan.
Manolo Marquez is currently the head coach of the Indian Super League (ISL) team FC Goa. After the completion of the ISL 2024-25 season, Marquez will take over as the full-time national team head coach.
Before being the coach of FC Goa, Manolo was the coach of the ISL team Hyderabad FC for three seasons. During his tenure, Hyderabad FC won the 2021-22 ISL title.
Surya Kumar Yadav to lead India in T-20 against Sri Lanka
The Indian Cricket selectors led by Ajit Agarkar have appointed Surya Kumar Yadav as the new captain and Shubhman Gill as the vice-captain of the Indian men’s T-20 side for the tour of Sri Lanka. After the retirement of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja from the T20 Internationals, a full-strength Indian side has been chosen for the Sri Lanka tour.
After the Indian team's triumph in the 2024 T-20 World Cup, many of the key players were rested for the Zimbabwe tour, which the Indian team led by Shubhman Gill. The Zimbabwe tour consisted of five T-20 Internationals, which India won 4-1.
Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team for the One Day International (ODI) series with Sri Lanka, which will commence just after the T20 series. Shubhman Gill has been appointed as the vice captain of the ODI side also.
India will play a three-match T20 and three-match ODI series with Sri Lanka.
