President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar greeted all citizens especially, the people of Kerala on the eve of Onam.
Onam is a celebration of unity, harvest and cultural richness, binding communities together in a tapestry of traditions.
Celebrated in memory of the legendary King Mahabali, it serves as a poignant reminder of the timeless values of benevolence, compassion and sacrifice. It’s also an occasion to honor the tireless efforts of our farming community and express gratitude to Mother Nature for her generosity.
The celebrations for Onam are held for ten days, beginning with the atham asterism in the month of Chingam (August / September) as per the local calendar.
