The Hemis Festival 2026 begins on 24th June 2026 at the Hemis Monastery in the Leh district of the Union Territory of Ladakh. It is a 2-day festival and one of the biggest festivals of Ladakh. On the inauguration day, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, V.K. Saxena, graced the occasion.
The Hemis Festival is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of “Guru Padmasambhava,” who is widely known as Guru Rinpoche or the Second Buddha.
