A Ministerial round table conference was held on April 24th, 2024, during the 26th World Energy Congress in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Where ministers from various countries discussed energy innovation and collaboration, and managing the evolving energy trilemma trade-offs. They also talked about how the COP28 UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai was a game changer in the fight against climate change.
During the conference, the Union Power Secretary talked about India's significant role in COP28 and its efforts towards renewable energy and energy efficiency commitments.
- He discussed the G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration, which highlights India's efforts to double the global rate of energy efficiency improvements every year and to triple the global renewable capacity by 2030.
The Secretary also talked about India's Mission LiFE, which promotes sustainable lifestyles and has received praise from the global community.
- He mentioned that COP28 recognized the need to transition towards carbon neutrality, with emphasis on Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) and green hydrogen.
The Secretary stressed the importance of inclusive approaches in managing energy transitions, including technology deployment and cooperation.
- He talked about the Revamped India Energy Security Scenarios (IESS) 2047 dashboard, which aids informed decision-making.
- He also mentioned the PM-KUSUM Scheme and solar rooftop programmes which promote environmental sustainability and job creation.
Finally, the Secretary emphasized the need for developing countries to have access to financing and clean technologies to navigate the energy trilemma effectively.
