Anahat Singh wins Under 17 British Junior Open 2025 Squash Tournament

Indian Squash prodigy Anahat Singh defeated Egypt’s Malika Elkaraksy to win the women’s Under 17 British Junior Open 2025 Squash tournament in Birmingham, England. Last year Anahat lost in the final to Egypt's Nadien Elhammamy in the Under 17 category.
The 2025 Under 17 age title in the girls section was the third title of Anahat Singh in the British Junior Open Squash tournament. Previously she won the Under 11 title in 2019, and Under 15 title in 2023.
In the 2025 edition, the top-seeded Anahat Singh defeated Malika Elkaraksy of Egypt 3-2 (4-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-5, 11-3).
En route to the final Anahat Singh defeated Egyptian Nadia Tamer in the quarter-finals and Egypt’s Ruqayya Salem in the semi-finals.
Anahat Singh had a very successful 2024. She won nine PSA (Professional Squash Association) Challenger titles last year. It was the most Challenger titles won by a female squash player in 2024.
In 2024 she won the JSW Willingdon Little Masters and Senior Tournament, Costa North Coast Open, Hamdard Squashters Northern Slam, the Alto Pennant Hills NSW Open, Chennai and Kolkata legs of the HCL Squash Tour, Western India Slam,Reliance PSA Challenge 3 Tournament and the JSW Sunil Verma Memorial Tournament.
She also successfully defended her Indian senior and junior national titles in 2024.
In 2024 Anahat for the first time in her career broke into the top 100 of the women’s PSA rankings and she is currently world No. 82 in the senior rankings.
The 2025 edition of the British Junior Open was held in Birmingham, England from 2-6 January 2025.
The competition was held for both boys and girls in the five age categories of Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 17, and Under 19 age groups.
Over 777 squash players from 50 countries participated in the 99 year tournament. Egypt finished the tournament with seven titles while India,Pakistan and the United States of America won one title each.
