Legendary Indian cueist Pankaj Advani won his 28th world title at the IBSF World Billiards Championship in Doha, Qatar. In the final, played on 9 November 2024, he defeated Robert Hall of England 4-2.
This was Pankaj Advani’s seventh consecutive title win at the IBSF World Billiards Championships. The IBSF World Billiards and Snooker Championship is for non-professional snooker and billiards players.
Cue sports are played with a cue stick to hit a ball on a table covered with cloth or a baise with pockets in the table's four corners. Cue sports include billiards, snooker, and pool.
Pakistani cueist Muhammad Asif made history by winning the IBSF Men’s World Snooker Championship 2024 for the third time. He is the only player in the world after Pankaj Advani to have won the IBSF World Men's Snooker Championship three times.
In the final, Muhammad Asif defeated Ali Gharaghouzlo of Iran in 5-3 frames.
The 2024 IBSF World Billiards and Snooker Championship were organised by the International Billiards and Snooker Federations in Doha, Qatar, and hosted by the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation.
The World Snooker Championship was held from 28 October to 9 November 2024, while the World Snooker Championship was held from 2 to 9 November 2024 at Doha.
The International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) was initially established as the World Billiards & Snooker Control Council in 1971 and subsequently in 1973 it adopted the present name.
The IBSF is the world governing body of men’s and women's non-professional snooker and English billiards.
It works to promote and develop the cue sports of snooker and English billiards around the world.
