England Beat Spain in Penalty Shootout to Win UEFA Women’s Euro 2025

The defending champion England defeated the World Champion Spain to win the 14th edition of the UEFA European Women’s Championship, also popularly known as UEFA Women’s Euro Cup. The final was played at the St. Jakob-Park Stadium in Basel city on 27 July 2025.
The 2025 Euro Cup final was a repeat of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup final, where Spain emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over England.
The English women's football team took revenge in the 2025 Euro Cup, defeating Spain 3-1 in the penalty shoot-out after the match ended 1-1.
The Spanish team, popularly known as La Roja, took the lead in the first half of the game through Mariona Caldentey's header. The English Lioness equalised through Alessia Russo's goal.
The match remained deadlocked even after the extra time. In the penalty shoot-out, England emerged champion with a score of 3-1.
Switzerland hosted the 14th UEFA Women’s Euro Cup 2025 from 2 -27 July 2025.
Sixteen women's football teams from European nations qualified for the final stages of the Euro Cup.
The teams were divided into four groups, and the two top teams from each group progressed to the knockout stage.
In the semifinals, England defeated Italy 2-1, and Spain defeated Germany to qualify for the final.
The final was played at St. Jakob-Park Stadium in Basel city on 27 July 2025, in which England successfully defended their title by beating Spain.
