India hosts the International Conference on Governance for the first time Summit and Conference 3 min read

India is for the first time hosting the annual Conference of the International Institute of Administrative Science (IIAS). The conference titled IIAS-DARPG (Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances) India Conference 2025 is being held in New Delhi from 10-14 February 2025. 

The conference will provide a platform for experts from over 55 countries to explore innovations in public administration, governance, and policymaking. 

They will also discuss the future of public administration, issues related to governance reforms, and the role of technology in shaping public governance.

The annual General  Assembly meeting of the IIAS will also take place during the International Conference.

Who inaugurated the IIAS-DARPG India Conference 2025?

The IIAS-DARPG  India Conference 2025 was inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions on 11th February 2025.

Ra’ed Mohammed BenShams, President of the IIAS, V. Shrinivas, Secretary DARPG were also present on the occasion.

International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) 

The International Institute of Administrative Sciences was founded in 1930.

It is an association of ministries, schools of government, national associations, and academic research centers.

Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG)

  • The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances comes under the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

  • The department is the nodal body for administrative reform.
  • It deals with public grievances relating to the central government agencies.
  • It is the nodal body for promoting international exchange and cooperation on public service reforms.
