Humaira 1st Female Indian Car Racer in British Endurance Championship

Humaira Mushtaq has achieved an extraordinary milestone by becoming the first female Indian car racer to participate in London's prestigious British Endurance Championship (BEC).

Hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Mushtaq also secured the distinction of being the first woman from South Asia to obtain an ITCCC license, granting her the opportunity to compete at this championship in London.
According to the official website of BEC, Mushtaq is proudly recognized as the first female Indian driver to participate in the event.
She drove a 620 hp Aston Martin in the final race, which took place at the Donington Grand Prix on October 14.
It was her first time competing in international racing, and she is now preparing for the upcoming season of BEC, which starts in March 2024.

Humaira, who hails from Bathindi area in Jammu, was introduced to the world of motorsports at the age of five when she began go-karting.
Undeterred by challenges, she mastered her driving skills and gradually advanced from Rotax Karting to single-seater Formula racing.
Back then, India only had two racing tracks, MMRT in Chennai and Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.

British Endurance Championship or Britcar

Britcar is a racing series that features endurance sports cars and touring cars, and it takes place in the United Kingdom.
The series was established in 1997 as a result of a conversation between Willie Moore and James Tucker at a bar in Nürburgring.
The cars participating in the races are grouped into different classes based on various factors such as speed, horsepower, momentum, and equipment installed on the car.
