Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) in partnership with Derq has implemented 14 AI powered smart pedestrian crossing systems. The new system’s AI algorithms are designed to detect and track vehicles and other road users approaching the pedestrian crosswalk.
Dubai Silicon Oasis, a technology park and a member of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority whereas Derq is a developer of artificial intelligence (AI) analytics solutions for road safety and traffic management.
The AI powered system can activate warning signs, traffic signal controllers, as well as in-road lights.
The system is also equipped with an ultra-high-speed 5G connection which helps in data collection of safety events and traffic.
