W Laredj Wins UAE's Great Arab Minds Award In Arts & Literature

Professor Waciny Laredj has won the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ‘Great Arab Minds Award’ (GAM) in the field of literature and arts. The Great Arab Minds Award is also known as the 'Arab Nobel'.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the UAE, has congratulated the various winners of the Great Arab Minds Award.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has held several top positions in the UAE, including:
- Vice President of UAE
- Prime Minister of UAE
- Ruler of Dubai
Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Algerian Professor Waciny Laredj on winning the GAM Award in Literature and Arts.

Great Arab Minds (GAM) Award:

The GAM Awards are given for outstanding achievements in six important areas.
These fields are natural sciences, engineering and technology, literature and arts, architecture and design, economics and medicine.
The awards are given to individuals who have made significant contributions in these fields for their impact on Arab society and human progress.

GAM Literature and Arts Awards:

This award is given to those individuals who have inspired meaningful and culturally, socially and intellectually impactful ideas.
This year's prize has been won by Algerian Professor Waciny Laredj.

GAM Natural Sciences Awards:

This award is given for contribution to the further development of knowledge in any branch falling within the broad field of natural sciences.
These include physics, chemistry, environmental science and relevant sub-disciplines in these fields.
This year, Lebanese scientist Niveen Khashab won the GAM Award in Natural Sciences.

GAM Engineering Technology Awards:

It is awarded to individuals who have made special contributions to innovation or further development of knowledge in any branch of engineering and technology.
This includes civil, electrical, chemical, biomedical and informatics engineering, information technology, data science, robotics, artificial intelligence, etc.
This year's award was won by Professor Fadil Adib of Lebanon.

GAM Medical Awards:

This award is given to those individuals who have contributed to the discovery or further development of knowledge in any branch of medicine. These include medical fields like diagnosis, treatment, disease prevention, medical research and other branches, etc.
This year's award announced Saudi Dr. Hani Najm as the first 'Great Arab Minds' award winner.

GAM Architecture Design Awards:

It is awarded to individuals who have contributed to the further development of technical knowledge in any of the architecture and design branches. These include building structures, natural ventilation, interior design, material design and urban design. It is yet to be announced.

GAM Economics Awards:

It is awarded to individuals who have contributed to developing macro and micro-economic solutions, strategies, policies, research or theories. It is yet to be announced.
