Union Ministry of Tourism participates in WTM 2023, London Summit and Conference 3 min read

The Union Ministry of Tourism is participating in the World Travel Market (WTM), London from 6 to 8 November 2023 along with various stakeholders including travel operators and state tourism departments.

Theme of Incredible India Pavilion:

  • The Ministry of Tourism created the Incredible India Pavilion at the World Tourism Market (WTM) 2023, London, featuring Under the theme ‘Incredible India! Visit India Year 2023’, a range of tourism products and transformative experiences are being showcased for visitors to India.

Inauguration of Indian Pavilion:

  • The Indian Pavilion was formally inaugurated by Ms. V. Vidyavati, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in the presence of Rohan Khaunte, Tourism Minister, Government of Goa and Vikram Doraiswami, High Commissioner of India to the UK.
  • Under WTM 2023, a total of 47 participants including travel operation companies/DMCs, state tourism departments of Delhi, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Assam and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be present at the Incredible India Pavilion.
  • State tourism departments of Kerala, Karnataka, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat have created their own pavilions to showcase their products and services and connect with potential customers and partners.

Efforts to increase tourism industry:

  • During its participation, the Ministry of Tourism wishes to use WTM 2023, London as a platform to bring together professionals from different sectors of the travel and tourism industry.
  • The platform will be used for networking, business opportunities, exchange of ideas and information.

27 September World Tourism Day:

  • Under the theme ''Incredible India! 'Visit India 2023', the Ministry of Tourism will have a special focus on promoting sustainable tourism, besides showcasing a range of tourism products and transformative experiences for travelers visiting India.
  • The Ministry of Tourism has launched the 'Travel for LiFE' program on the occasion of World Tourism Day on 27 September 2023.
  • This initiative is based on Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is a global people's campaign led by India.
  • The campaign urges individuals and communities to act to protect the environment against the effects of climate change.
